Clean Up the Philippines was founded by Roald R. Arcangel in September of 2004. Its objective is to promote the simple and practical message of Clean Up the World which is to clean up and preserve the environment. It was organized in coordination with Clean Up the World's Headquarters in Sydney, Australia.

Mr. Arcangel contacted some of his friends and invited them to join him to support and volunteer for the cause. On February 22, 2005, Clean Up the Philippines Movement, Inc. was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit, non-government environmental organization. On the same year, Clean Up the Philippines Movement, Inc. became a Member of the Clean Up the World global campaign.

The Movement’s vision is to serve as a catalyst in changing individuals and communities by way of inspiring and motivating them to clean up and preserve the environment.
